HOME / About Us
At Yogabeams , we believe that yoga is a joyful adventure for growing minds and bodies. Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and playful space where children can explore the fun and benefits of yoga while building confidence, focus, and kindness.
At the heart of Yogabeams is the belief that every child can thrive through movement, breath, and imagination. We use yoga as a creative tool to support children’s emotional, physical, and social development — helping them grow stronger, calmer, and more connected to themselves and others.
Our friendly and experienced kids’ yoga instructors are passionate about working with children of all ages. Each class is guided with care, compassion, and a big dose of fun! Our team is trained to adapt poses and themes for different developmental stages, making sure every child feels seen, included, and supported.
Yogabeams is more than a class — it’s a community. We celebrate the unique spirit of each child while encouraging connection and teamwork. Our classes and events are designed to bring families together, build friendships, and create a sense of belonging in a positive and uplifting environment.
Our studio is a playful and peaceful space designed just for kids. With colorful mats, calming décor, and plenty of room to move, breathe, and be creative, we offer an environment that invites children to feel safe, free, and inspired. Every detail is chosen with little yogis in mind.
We are committed to making yoga accessible and enjoyable for all children. Our class schedule includes age-appropriate sessions from toddlers to tweens, including family yoga, sensory-friendly classes, and mindfulness workshops. Whether your child needs to burn energy, find calm, or just have fun — we’ve got them covered.
Come join the fun, stretch your imagination, and discover the magic of yoga! Whether your child is brand new or already a little yogi, we welcome them with open arms. Let’s grow, breathe, and shine — together.

Namaste, from all of us at Yogabeams .
Here’s a list of ways a teacher teaches yoga to Yogabeams tailored for a nurturing, playful, and developmentally supportive environment:
Teachers use creative themes like jungle adventures, space travel, or ocean journeys to guide children through yoga poses. Each pose becomes a part of the story — for example, a tree in a forest (Tree Pose) or a lion roaring (Lion’s Breath). This makes the practice fun, memorable, and engaging.
Instructors often incorporate fun songs, nursery rhymes, or rhythmic beats to help children remember poses and transitions. Music also sets a positive tone, supports movement coordination, and helps keep energy balanced throughout the session.
Yoga is sometimes paired with simple crafts, drawing, or coloring mindfulness-themed worksheets. Playful activities like yoga games, freeze yoga, or pose cards help reinforce lessons in an interactive and child-centered way.
Teachers introduce age-appropriate breathing exercises using visual aids (like blowing bubbles, smelling flowers, or “snake breath”) to help kids become aware of their breath. This builds emotional regulation, focus, and calm.
Each class may include short, repeat-after-me affirmations such as
“I am strong,” “I am kind,”
or
“I am peaceful.”
Teachers model and repeat these to help children build self-esteem and mindfulness.
Kids learn best by watching. Teachers demonstrate each pose clearly and invite children to try without pressure. They provide gentle corrections using encouraging language and sometimes use props like stuffed animals or yoga blocks to support posture.
Each class has a clear structure — a calm welcome, warm-up, yoga adventure, breathwork, rest (savasana), and goodbye ritual (like a group Namaste or gratitude circle). Predictability builds security and helps kids know what to expect.
Teachers create space for children to name and understand their feelings. Yoga games, movement journaling, or themed discussions (like “How do we feel when we’re mad?”) help children connect emotions with their bodies and breath.
Recognizing that children need to move frequently, teachers keep activities short, dynamic, and varied. They adapt on the spot if kids are restless, switching to a game or a calming moment as needed.
Above all, the teacher fosters a sense of trust, belonging, and play. They respect each child’s pace and personality, creating a class where everyone feels included and celebrated.

Natalia Richardson
Founder
I’m Natalia Richardson, and I taught as a Montessori Directress at The Willows for eight years. Seeking ways to stay present and regulated as a teacher, I turned to yoga and breathwork. Experiencing the benefits personally led me to study yoga for children, especially those with special needs. This included training with an occupational therapist to apply yoga therapeutically for neurodiverse learners.
Through this journey and inspired by the diverse needs of children in my classroom I integrated yoga and mindfulness into my Montessori practice. Training with Yoga4Kids deepened my understanding of how these tools support self-regulation, focus, and emotional resilience in children.
From this, Yoga Beams was born a program dedicated to nurturing Montessori children through movement, mindfulness, and breath. Our goal is to support the whole child physically and emotionally so they can flourish with confidence, joy, and inner peace.
Gina Betts
Gina Betts is a former Montessori Directress with six years of enriching experience. Today, she is channelling her passion into helping children meet their deeper needs through meditation, yoga, and mindfulness practices. Her studies in Reiki and Yoga for kids have further enriched her understanding of the healing power of these modalities. Gina is inspired to share the joy and power of yoga with children, believing that these practices can profoundly impact their lives.
Alongside her evolving career in holistic education, Gina continues to thrive as a Paint Technique artist, blending creativity and mindful living to inspire peace and well-being in every aspect of life.
